Snowfall
-
I peel off
the cellophane
you wrapped
my heart in
choking it
in it’s
own vapour
I scrape
whats left
of you
out of me
with
finger nails
and
animal bones
And
I sew myself
back up
with
licorice strings
and
sinew
And
I crush up
dead moths
and use
the powder
to paint
myself grey
And
I hide myself
under
the cover
of night
until
morning breaks
through
it’s shell
And
I drink
from
it’s yolk
